Project "Children's Village"
Problems the projects aim to solve
Despite the popularization of family forms of placement of orphans and children requiring consumer care, in Ukraine, unfortunately, there is a high number of children in residential institutions. In family-type orphanages there may be children who have the established status of an orphan child or a child requiring consumer care. Children who are related by blood are transferred to a family-type orphanage only together.
According to the legislation of Ukraine, a family that has created a family-type orphanage maintains an office space (house) and furniture. But, unfortunately, the accommodation cannot be proovided by the government. In this regard, in 2014 Charitable Foundation "Pomogaem" launched the "Children's Village" project, within the framework of which cottages for family-type home houses are being built.
Project objectives
- implementation of a set of measures aimed at the construction of 4 cottages for the functioning of family-type orphanages;
- selection and training of families ready to create a family-type orphanage and take up to 10 orphans or children deprived of parental care, including blood children.
- providing parents-educators living in the "Children's Village" with a complex of legal, psychological and information services.
